Java Sutra: Gwen Knighton, Live at the Java House
In April, I gave a concert in Conyers, GA at a little place called The Java House. And a friend of mine showed up with a portable MP3 rig and recorded the whole thing. I'm going to be releasing the good bits, including some completely unreleased stuff and some stuff that's not likely to ever make it onto a solo CD or a Three Weird Sisters CD, as a benefit project-- Java Sutra: Live at the Java House.
This is a benefit project. It's your chance to share the energy of a live solo performance, and hey-- I've got to put food on my table. I'm trying to raise enough money so that I can either stay in Atlanta or finance my move elsewhere, and it needs to happen pretty soon.
What Java Sutra contains:
We're just finalizing the track listing for the CD now, but I promise you at least an hour of intimate performances, real live stage banter, and one song that was so new the bridge wasn't even complete yet-- this CD contains the first-ever performance of Dancer.
What Java Sutra does not contain:
It's all originals and traditional stuff. Yes, there is a murder ballad on the CD, as well as an abduction ballad. There are no copyrighted covers. Also, nothing that's going on the upcoming Three Weird Sisters CD Hair Of The Frog will be on this CD. There's no fancy artwork, no frills, no expensive four-color printing: just an intimate performance with all the ambiance left in.
